IMA NEWS · OCTOBER 21, 2026

Welcome to the new Iowa Music Awards website.

One state. One community. A new home for every part of the music.

We’ve rebuilt the IMA experience to make it easier to submit your work, discover Iowa talent and follow the awards. Our simpler submission form puts the details in one place, with a consideration profile to show what you submitted, your bio, music and social links.

More of the story, easier to find.

Explore winners by year and category, meet the nominees and open artist profiles with available hometowns, genres, bios, social links and award records. Scorecards bring wins, nominations and submissions together, while gold asterisks highlight winning nominations.

Our photo archive brings the first four years into one place, with year filters, photographer credits and an enlarged viewer. The new About page tells the story of our growth, and the Academy page introduces the public members open to community feedback.

A hub for Iowa’s music community.

IMA News adds a statewide calendar with city, date and genre filters, event submissions with flyer uploads, an Openers Wanted board and artist connections. Organizers can share performance terms and optional free-ticket offers for verified Academy members. Event listings and promotional coverage are reviewed before publication.

Newsletter sign-up makes it easier to follow announcements and selected stories. You can also find award categories, sponsorship and vendor information, press resources, ticket updates and ways to contact the team from the navigation.

Built to keep moving.

We’ll keep updating the site as new submissions, approved events, artist information and award announcements arrive. Easier access, more information and more ways to connect—that’s the next chapter of the Iowa Music Awards.

IMAs 5 is on the horizon.

We’re targeting Q1 2027, in February or March, and are in talks with Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. Once the 2027 city is settled, the plan is to bring the following year’s celebration to the other city. Dates and venues will be announced after confirmation.
